Winter sports - individual - different & yet sporty
Ski touring, winter running, cross-country skiing, ice skating, tobogganing -the Gasteinertal valley is ideal for sports enthusiasts.
Sport in the fresh winter air brings not only a strong immune system but also joie de vivre!
Fresh mountain air, an endless view, alpine silence and the tranquility of the mountains give strength for further adventures.
An insider tip is the Hüttenkogel, because the summit cross was newly erected by the Trachtenverein D' Hüttenkogla, whose chairman Mike has been for many years. It was designed and built by his brother and is therefore our pride and joy.
Start your evening ski tour, directly from the front door, up the Zirbenwaldweg to the Hüttenkogel. On the descent we recommend a warm-up stop at Iris & Franz at the Graukogelhütte. Then it's back down the mountains in the dark to ski out at our hotel.
Cross country skiing
We have 3 high-altitude ski trails in Sportgastein, 3 trails in Böckstein (one of them even with floodlights), one in Badbruck, 4 in Hofgastein and 2 in Dorfgastein. Rarely such a valley with a total of 13 cross-country ski trails.
Each one is something very special and can offer different levels of difficulty.
Ski tours
For beginners in ski touring the Graukogel, our local mountain offers the ideal slope route. But also full professionals come in Bad Gastein sporty at your expense and to a top condition. The best ski touring equipment you can borrow directly from our cousin Martina and her husband Uwe at www.skistall.at
Freeriding
Unforgettable deep snow experiences and incomparable routes, adapted to the current weather conditions should definitely be completed only with a guide.
Then the snow dusts up to the chin and the rapid descent can almost certainly spur the adrenaline to peak performance.
Ice skating
In the center of Bad Hofgastein you will find the Alpenarena with the busy ice skating rink. Again and again there are events like children's disco and much more.
Running
Even on vacation, you shouldn't do without your daily sports routine, so put on your running shoes, turn left from the front door in the direction of Grüner Baum and head straight down to the Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade.
Tobogganing
From your lodges, you can see the illuminated natural toboggan run of the Bellevue Alm directly on the right. Up it goes with the single-seater-chairlift and down with a lot of speed on the 2 runners.
